CA LIVE: Becoming a scare actor at Terror Vault's HEXED!

Jobeth Devera of CA LIVE (bravely) goes BEHIND THE SCREAMS to discover what it takes to become a professional scare actor. First, she lets Special Effects Makeup Artist Jason Henricks “do his magic”. Starting with removing her eyebrows, step by step, Jason transforms Jobeth into a terrifying witch. Then, after learning a few quality scare techniques, she stakes out her hiding spot and unleashes terror throughout the vaults.

 

Bay Area Reporter: Terror Vault’s ‘Hexed’ – journey through a maze of queer horrors

David-Elijah Nahmod gives a run-down of what to expect at HEXED, which is “suited for adults only and not for the faint of heart”. He spoke with Joshua Grannell and learned how Terror Vault, now one of the Bay Area’s most popular Halloween attractions, all began. When Grannell met co-producer David Flower in Provincetown, they put their wicked minds together, mashing up their love of haunted houses and experiences as adult theater-makers to create something more immersive.

 

Chad Jones’ Theater Dogs: Terror Vault’s ‘Hexed’ casts a wicked spell

Chad Jones writes about the joys of the (mostly) vibrant Bay Area theater scene. On October 4, he found HEXED to be as gross, fun and jump scare-y as you want it to be, with some nifty technology/projections, and grotesquely fantastic make-up and costumes. He confessed that “The Disney-nerd-meets-theater-nerd in me loves these immersive experiences…” and marveled that Terror Vault’s expertise seems to grow with each year.

 

AXIOS San Francisco: Terror Vault brings the season of the witch to San Francisco

Carrie Reilly reports that Terror Vault’s immersive experience HEXED ups the Halloween factor this month with its witch-themed combination of live theater, full storyline, and special effects in a maze-like set. At one point in the journey to find and stop three evil witches in different corners of the world, she actually felt she was in the snowy Himalayas! “This was my third time going to Terror Vault. It's great to see the show feeling fresh in its seventh year. Seeing this show marks the official start of spooky season for me!Watch the video.
